Automation works better with a human escape hatch.
How to build a WhatsApp experience that knows when to hand the conversation back.
A useful sales agent does not try to replace every human conversation. It answers repeated questions and makes the next step easier, while leaving a clear route to a person.
Start by documenting your products, delivery policy, pricing and business hours. Give the agent reliable information instead of expecting it to guess. Never let an automated assistant promise a refund or availability that it cannot verify.
Define handover triggers: a refund request, a frustrated customer, an unusual question, or someone explicitly asking for a human. Acknowledge the request and set realistic expectations about your team’s response time.
Before connecting a live WhatsApp account, test the flow with sample conversations. Meta credentials, approved messaging templates and customer consent are part of the production setup—not a substitute for it.
